"Finally, a new career"
Well the time has finally arrived for Ken Pieper. After 50 years in the construction industry as an Architectural Illustrator and Residential Custom Home Designer, I am starting a new career in Fine Art. I have wanted to do this for many years, but honestly the designing of extraordinary homes across our great country for some wonderful folks has been extremely satisfying. I am self taught and with perseverance, patience, and persistence have accomplished much. This was and is only possible because of God's grace for my artistic talents, guidance and his blessing of the good people I have had the privilege of working with as associates, clients, friends and family. I owe much to all.
Now the page has turned and another exciting chapter of Ken's life begins. Again I am fortunate to have His grace, my family, my wife Dianne and friends ready with full support of my new journey. My sincere wish is that I can be worthy of their trust and yours in viewing the art that is presented. The hard work, the challenges that lie ahead, the consistent learning curve, all great indeed in scope, but I know attainable.
The intention of my work is not to seek fame, to make a lot of money, or to be sought after for instruction. Rather to create a body of good work of lasting value. My vision of interest and experiences for over seven decades will be my subject matter. Varied to be true, but with a central thematic balance of history, personal experiences and visions of the incredible natural and organic world God created for us. My mission is simple. Create fine art worthy of the subject matter chosen to be represented on canvas.
I will be posting this newsletter regularly, and please voice your opinions and feedback as in this new writing venue I feel somewhat like the man on a tightrope. The articles I have chosen to date are a mixture of lessons I have learned in business for these many years, current trends in marketing, money management and just plain fun and crazy ideas to hopefully better you and I in the pursuit of creating great art.
Ben and Jerry's production facility in the Burlington facility has a sign over the door that simply states the following: "If we're not having fun, why do it?" I totally agree and hope some of what I've learned and experienced in the past can be shared in order for each to adopt and experience this motto to its' fullest.
Until next time, Have fun and enjoy the journey-
May God Bless-
Ken Pieper
